WILL MY STATE TAKE THAT TYPE OF TITLE?
It is the purchasers responsibility to make sure that their state will accept the title or ownership documents for the motorcycle they want to purchase.  We do not offer refunds if you are unable to ride or title the bike. The easiest and fastest way to find out is to call your local Division of Motor Vehicles Office and ask. We suggest that you call twice and talk to two different people this way you have two opinions not just one.

SALVAGE OR REBUILDABLE SALVAGE TITLE:
We have found that almost all states will take a motorcycle that has a Salvage Title or Salvage Rebuildable Title and permit you to repair the bike, then have it inspected and issue a rebuilt or repaired title or in some cases a clear unbranded title.

FLORIDA REBUILT TITLE:
We have also found that most states will accept a motorcycle with a Florida Rebuilt Title. This type of title previously was a Salvage or Rebuildable Salvage Title and the motorcycle was repaired and inspected by the Florida Division of Motor Vehicles.  The title is in the Dealer name and will transfer directly to the purchaser.

Currently we know of two states that will not take the Florida Rebuilt Title. One is New York which requires a complete inspection and may take up to 3 weeks and the other is California which  requires an additional inspect that may take up to 2 weeks.

ALL OTHER TITLE TYPES:
As far as a Certificate of Destructions, Bill of Sales, Non-Repairable Certificates, Scrap Certificates, Junking Titles and any other title or ownership documents we may offer,   you must call your local Division of Motor Vehicles Office and check with them.

BILL OF SALES ONLY:
Some of our bikes are sold as "Bill of Sale Only" and we are often asked what happened to the title.  In several states when a motorcycle is damaged in an accident the insurance company is permitted to send the title to that  States Division of Motor Vehicles to be canceled.  They then, have the right to sell the motorcycle with a Bill of Sale.  You must check with your local Division of Motor Vehicles Office to see if they will accept our notarized Bill of Sale to you as proof of ownership and issue up a title to ride the bike. If we have already repaired the motorcycle and your state requires it we can supply you with a parts invoice.

CERTIFICATES OF DESTRUCTION:
This is the ownership document a motorcycle in Florida is sold with, when the damage (according to the estimator) exceeds 80% of the cash value of the motorcycle.  In many cases the cost to fix this motorcycle is far less then what the insurance company estimates.  In Florida it is impossible to get a usable title for this motorcycle, but in many other states this motorcycle can be repaired and re-titled.

Do not let the words "Certificate of  Destruction" scare you.  Call your local Division of Motor Vehicles Office and ask if you can repair or buy a bike already repaired (with parts invoice) and ride it in your home State.

If you have questions, please call us. We can offer advice or fax you copy of the owner-ship documents. Our contact number is 305-885-0947 and ask for "Mike the Bike". or e-mail your questions to sales@damagedbikes.com
